Building the NeilCurtis.me landing page
When I was developing this website and putting together some good quality initial content I put up a landing page just to let people know what was coming. The video directly below shows you what this landing page looked like and then works through every single step showing you how it was created. This long video has also been split down into a series of shorter videos that you can watch here.

If you are looking to learn and experiment then it may be better to do it locally using your own computer as a server rather than setting up web hosting and buying a domain name. This is completely FREE to do and pretty straight forward.
Setting up a local development environment and installing WordPress
Working through the building you the NeilCurtis.me landing page
Installing the Genesis Framework and child theme
Adding an about area on the webpage
Creating hover link images using background DIVs and CSS
Add and format Gravity Forms to your website
Link up Gravity Forms with MailChimp
Add a favicon to your website and edit the footer text
Create your own favicon
This series of short videos should provide you with some background and direction so that you can start building and formatting your own website. I am continuously adding tutorials, videos, and news to the website with the aim of giving you all the information you need to build sites such as TurboBikeTrainer.com that have more complex layouts, custom post types and fields, and even price comparison functionality to compare products against each other.
