Two pretty significant things have happened this month (June 2016). By significant I mean I have had a couple of things validated for me and it is really encouraging and points the way of what is possible.
I’m going to start with my Amazon Ecommerce business, something I have talked about a fair amount recently. As I have mentioned here I have 5 products selling now on Amazon.co.uk, 4 of these are new and one I have been selling for around 10 months. Previously when I had only 1 product I had a record sales day of 25 sales, which was absolutely fantastic. So when I added my new products I hoped combined I could do 25 per day consistently and maybe even more.
I am doing Amazon PPC advertising (AKA Sponsored Products) that is set at a £50 per day limit (across all products), but even so yesterday (13th June 2016) I did a combined sales across all products of 42 units. This is way ahead of what I’d expect seen as the new products only have 1 or 2 reviews, but something obviously happened to spike these sales. I expect sales to be lower than this over the coming days but this really opened my mind to what is possible.
These 42 sales equated to 22 of product #1, 14 of product#2, 4 of product#3, 1 of product#4 and 1 of product#5. In total there were £560.88 in sales so an average of £13.35 per sale. Roughly 30% (probably slightly less) is profit and then there is the advertising costs to factor in. However, for me the main thing is that I know that there are sales to be made and the new products are selling.
For the previous 2 weeks sales were averaging around 22 per day, which I was very happy with.
OK, away from Amazon I want to chat about my online course over at Earn1000.co.uk. I was selling the course at an Introductory price of £99, but the time came to increase this price. I have had positive feedback from people who have taken the course and the fact that the website I make myself during the course had made over £1000 in May 2016 alone I felt comfortable increasing the price.
I announced to those on my Earn1000 mailing list that I would be increasing prices to £199 at 11:59pm on Friday 10th June. I sent out reminders throughout the week with the last one going out around 3hrs before this deadline. 6 new people signed up for the course during this period (welcome if you are one of these people), which is great and now I can focus on helping these people achieve what they want to achieve and also look to promote the course at this new price of £199.
Finally, as I mentioned in my previous post (see it here), I updated one of my affiliate websites to remove price comparison units and replace them with direct links to Wiggle Cycles and Amazon. It is early days but I have seem a few sales come in from this website. Commission are up compared to last month at the same point, and compared to last year sales are also up.
I just want to finish saying that I have an Intern that has come through the University who is going to work on my ECommerce website. Their role is to research, write, and publish some great content but perhaps more importantly they will promote and market this content a lot. Also they will start and grow relationships with other bloggers and social influencers in the niche. The aim is to establish the brand online and remove some of the dependency away from Amazon so if something does go wrong over there I have my own platform to market and sell my products.
Cheers
Neil
Wow what your doing is brilliant. I dont have any confidence and dont go out very much. I’m really interested in what you have done. Can’t wait to find out more.
Hi Helen. Thanks for commenting.
Are you doing (or looking to do) something online? If you want to play around a little I suggest you try starting your own affiliate website. The only cost is web hosting and a website name, but this is only about £50 in total for a whole year (you can pay monthly too).
Anyway, if you have not done so already check out my website about affiliate marketing here: http://earn1000.co.uk/make-an-affiliate-website/
