How to translate a WordPress website into different languages

By Neil on November 16, 2015

This tutorial was recorded for OnTheGoSystems as part of their training videos. It uses a Toolset training website that already has content added and this content is translated from English to Spanish.

Here in this video we use the WPML (WordPress Multi-Language) plugin to translate the website from English to French. The website is designed using the Layouts plugin by Toolset and the homepage has two main content areas, one static and one dynamic. The dynamic content is already translated to French so all I do here is show how to translate the static areas.

A small note about using the WPML plugin. It seemed like there were a few too many steps involved to carry out this translation in the back end of WordPress. The process could probably be streamlined a bit, although this being said this is a very useful plugin for anyone needed to offer their website up in different languages. Also future updates will make things smoother.

If you want to learn more about the WPML plugin click here to visit their website.
