I use categories in a lot of my posts but I rarely do anything with them. I have a few posts under the category ‘Affiliate Marketing’ where I talk about how to make money online from websites. So I decided to create a page dedicated to these posts. Archive pages do show posts by category, but I wanted to add a page with a custom title, an introduction, and a list of posts formatted how I want them to be formatted.
The idea is to structure this website a bit more. I have two main areas, one area is my tutorials and guides about WordPress and how to use plugins such as Gravity Forms, Toolset, and others. I also have some general articles (posts) about making money online, which is what I do for a living.
This new page will have a custom title, an introduction and then it will display all posts in the category ‘Affiliate Marketing’. I use the Views plugin to do this, which is paid plugin by OnTheGoSystems, a WordPress plugin I use a lot for creating Custom Templates and Views (for displaying content on my websites).
The video below goes through the entire process of creating a new View for displaying posts.
You can either buy the Views plugin alone or you can buy it as part of a suit of plugins called Toolset. These include custom post types creation, forms, layouts, and various themes. The idea is to let people with no .PHP skills create custom styling and functions in WordPress.
