How to arrange your posts in a grid or gallery layout

By Neil on August 6, 2014

This step-by-step video tutorial shows you how to lay your custom post types out in a nice gallery or grid on your WordPress website.

While you can do this by creating custom post templates here we make life so much easier by using the Views Plugin by OnTheGoSystems. This plugin lets you style custom post types and also lets you display your custom post types as lists, grids, and however else you want to display them on your WordPress website.

Here we use one of my websites TurboBikeTrainer.com to carry out this tutorial. This website has a custom post type called Turbo Trainers and we are going to lay out this custom post type as a gallery / grid on a page that displays the title and an image of each post, which both link through to the post when clicked.

    Hi Neil
Just wanted to thank you for taking the time to create your tutorial videos.
I bought the views plugin a couple of years ago for a specific website I wanted to build but couldn’t really get the hang of it. A few days ago a friend asked me to create a new page on a website I built for him, I thought types and views would be perfect for this so started looking around for tutorials. I came across your youtube channel and found your videos VERY helpful. Not only did I complete the page he wanted but I now have a much better understanding of how everything fits together.
Next job now is to tackle that site I wanted to build 2 years ago!

Hi Tony, I checked your site out, good work.

Did you create a load of custom fields and then style it all using the Views plugin?

The plugin(s) are very useful. I plan to do a few more tutorials probably based around another site I setup. I have implemented a Q&A feature which is all done with Types & Views (or as its called now Toolset).

Check it out if your interested and hopefully I’ll get the tutorial done soon.

Cheers for taking the time to leave a nice comment.

    Hi Neil,
I have subscribe to your newsletter around two week ago. And today, I got your newsletter that explains this view tutorial. I have very happy with this tutorial as you explain it in a very simple way. I am not a coder.

yes, I bought tool set life time license a week ago. But now I am still learning it from your newsletter and you tube channel.

Please keep posting video tutorials about toolset as they will benefit many people like me, non coder.

I also have subscribed to your you tube channel.

Thanks for very good and step by step video tutorials.
