I’ve created this post (and video) to talk about how I use the Types & Views plugins (part of the Toolset suite of plugins) to create, style and display custom post types.
I’ve said it before, but the day I understood how to use custom post types on the websites I create with WordPress was the day my life got so much easier. I could stop trying to make all my content fit into a normal Post or Page in WordPress, and could instead create special custom post types for each type of content and then assign custom fields to these post types so that is became so much easier to add a new post, product, offer or whatever it was I wanted to do.
The video above shows how I use and display custom post types across four different WordPress websites. You can add custom post types and style them manually (i.e. code it all) following a method like this, but I personally use the plugins Types & Views (part of the Toolset suite of plugins) to create, style, and display custom post types on every single one of my websites. I highly recommend the Toolset plugins if you are looking to do something similar.
