Todays video focuses strongly on selling on Amazon and the pros and cons associated with it. These are drawn from real life experiences as I explain in the video.
Amazon can generate amazing sales but it can also cause you a lot of headaches. I have had a few over the last 2 years but in the last week I had a major one that was mainly caused by Amazon Seller Support.
A couple of weeks ago I needed to edit my main Best Selling product to increase the price and also to tweak to bullet points and description. I noticed then that I was restricted from editing the product because of the category I was in. This is the same category I have always been in and the category that I am a Best Seller in.
I contact Seller Support and the slow response I got set the scene for the rest of the painfully poor support I would get until this issue was finally resolved.
After a few days I was finally able to edit my listing once again, however the listing was now set to inactive and I could not get it back toe active. This meant the product was no longer listed on Amazon and thus making zero sales. To put this in to context I had made over £27,000 in sales the month prior and had just had 5 days in a row with over £1000 in sale in the UK alone (I also sell in Spain, Germany, Italy, and France). All of a sudden 50+ units of sales was eliminated.
Answers from Amazon were amazingly poor and slow. I was promised update call backs that never came (3 times this happened). I was messaged to say they were looking in to the issue but I was not told what was happening exactly. I felt I was not been taken seriously. Sales dropped to about £200 / day from the past position of £1000+ per day.
After so many messages and phone calls I finally got my listing active and selling again. I’d not only lost 3 or 4 days sales but I also lost my best seller position. I therefore kept my prices low (remember this issue started when I wanted to increase my prices) and boosted PPC and I finally clawed the Best Seller position back again.
I’ve since increased my price and sales have continued to do well. Long my Amazon stay out of the way and let things progress how they are… Fingers Crossed!!!!
