Amazon Affiliate Website September 2016 Update

September has come and gone so I wanted to update you on how the Amazon affiliate website setup during the Earn1000 Coaching Program is doing.

I always expected sales to drop as the cold weather approaches because the website is about gas BBQs and is aimed at the UK audience. So I would be very (very) surprised if visitor numbers and commissions did not drop a lot compared to the summer months.

This is exactly what happened. Across September 2016 there was a total of 2501 sessions and 2230 unique visitors. This is an average of 83 visits per day, which about half of what the website got in August.

For September there were 34 items dispatched from Amazon worth £1671.21. This earned commissions of £113.96. Breaking the £100 mark for a single month was the primary goal of the Amazon affiliate website when it was first setup so to achieve this in September for a website about BBQs is still a good achievement.

In total since it was started in March 2015 (learn more about the evolution of the website here) the Amazon affiliate website has made a total of £3386.46. Bear in mind for the first year (12 months) the website only made £140.06, that means in the last 9 months the website has earned £3,246.40 (that is an average of £360.71 per month).

For the next few months (i.e. up until next summer) the website will not make much money, of that I am certain. However I will continue to grow the website and apply some more advanced content marketing strategies to make sure it is in a good position when summer 2017 does arrive. In the first 9 months of 2017 I aim to make more commissions than I made in 2016. If that happens then there will have been progress.

I am not planning on making this Amazon affiliate website a huge authoritative website that will attract 1000s of visitors per day and earn £1000s a month (consistently), however I do want it to make several thousand over a year.

How is your websites coming along? Do you have all your content up there yet? If you do then you can expect commissions to start coming in and then it is up to you how much you grow and develop your website.
